This is a heterogeneous album. It is a mix of Berlin School, Chillout and neo-romantic Electronica. It alternates long hypnotic sequencer riffs to very catchy motifs. The last piece is really atypical for my music: a romantic 80s-style piece entirely dedicated to sunsets.

The main goal of my music is to literally "fly elsewhere", and I am more comfortable to do that using (more or less elaborated) sequencing sessions, with powerful and sharp basses, and combining sequencing with arpeggio. In few words I love to do that in a "trippy" way, but with a strong dynamics therein. To me rhythm is like mathematics: exact and sharp. Sometimes I really think that sequencers are the somewhat shamanic tom-tom of this century: lot of hypnotic aptitude armonized with technology.

I perform long ambient-like suites alone very rarely. Instead I like to merge some of them in the beginning and at the end of a long sequencer run. It is like the sea, which can easily pass from flat to highly wavy.

In the last years I started to appreciate Chillout too, just a different way to use sequencers mixed up with beat-like style.

But sometimes, very transiently indeed, some romantic moments suddenly appear, just out of the blue. In fact I am so fond of my "Any Sunset You Like". But these are only moments, which soon vanish like snow in the sun. I feel much more keen to the future with its infinite potentials, than to the past of sentiments. In few words the left brain always wins, but in a very psychedelic and trancey way.

Totemtag is the pseudonym in music of Dr. Massimo Teodorani, who is an Italian Ph.D. astrophysicist. He is strongly inspired by the Berlin School of classical electronic music. Lastly he attempts to approach Ambient, Trance and Chillout music.

I think Cosmic Ground is a exciting band. Old fashioned and with nice vibes and rhytms. But I miss something. Many compare with TD. Maybe, but I lack the crescendo at the end of the songs. It becomes boring when the end lacks a Froeselike guitarsolo. Something is missing, the crescendo is missing, the songs just exit out with no proper end explosion. Roger Adler
